As part of the pathfinder initiative the Post 16 Strand highlighted a need for courses for our students with Moderate Learning Difficulties, concentrating on those who fall into the category of kinaesthetic learners.

So one course that was brought to our attention is a course devised by Middlesbrough F.C. and Stockton and Billingham College, Football First.

The Football First project uses football as a learning tool. It aims to raise the basic skill levels in areas such as Information Communication Technology, health and fitness and literacy. There is the opportunity to develop a personal fitness portfolio with pre and post course testing.
The students at the end of the course will have achieved a nationally recognised IT qualification and they will receive a certificate from a star player for finishing the course.

We have 4 students starting on the 27th October 2002 and more places booked for after Christmas.
