Preparation
for Working Life - SEB
Personal
Students in SEB are encouraged to make choices of preference so
that they can have some input into e.g. what they eat and what
activities they take part in. We take information from previous
choices to aid decisions about best placements for them in the
future.

Social
Students are encouraged to interact with each other and with adults
in all areas of the curriculum in SEB. They also take part in inclusion
sessions into other classes throughout the school. This helps them
to be at ease with a wide range of people in different situations.
Students are taken to shops, museums etc. to broaden their experience
of social situations.
Cultural
SEB provides students with experiences from a variety of cultures through multi
sensory media, such as cooking, music, touch of materials and objects from specific
cultures and aromas.
Academic
The main focuses of SEB are developing communication skills and
working towards the most independent life style possible. This
may simply be as much as pushing a plate away when they have
had enough to eat or taking their own coat off. These steps seem
small but are actually huge to many of our students.
