Music students visit Abbey Hill

On Thursday 2nd October Matthew Barlow (Dave Barlow's son) and Sam Kennedy, both former members of the Tees Valley Youth Orchestra visited Abbey Hill and during the first two periods played some well known tunes for the students in the SEB. After break they played for the whole of the school in the main hall.

All the students seemed to really enjoy the 35 minutes of popular tunes such as Disney's film tunes and other popular film scores.

Matthew and Sam are almost ready to set off to University on Sunday 5th October to study music. Matthew is going to York University and Sam Kennedy is going to Cambridge. Sam was the leader of the Tees Valley Youth Orchestra and is also in the National Youth Orchestra. He played in the recent season of the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
