| Musical Mnemonics
Here
are some songs written by John Youdale as part of some Sabbatical
work that he was involved with last year (2003). They cover various
areas of the curriculum in a fun and varied way and they were written
with the intention of using music to help students learn ideas through
rhyme, rhythm and melody. Please feel free to use them in whichever
way you choose, but do bear in mind that they were written by a non
French speaking person, so the pronunciation may not stand up to
too much close inspection.
Not all of the files are available from the web site if you
want the rest please send a SAE for a CD with a donation to the
Abbey Hill new building fund would be most welcome. The files
highlighted are linked to MP3 files which can be downloaded.
The files are quite large most being about 3 to 4 Mb in size.
John wrote and performed all of the music himself except the
drums which he made from samples of drums on his computer. All
of this was recorded on a home computer at home over a six week
period.
Please let us know how you get on with this stuff if you choose
to use it with students in your school. Comments would be more
than welcome.
